Rick Horner – Founder and Director
Rick Horner is an accomplished improviser who has studied at The Second City Training Center in Chicago and with such teachers as Keith Johnstone, Joe Bill, Ali Farahnakian, Susan Messing, Ari Voukydis, Matt Besser of the Upright Citizens Brigade, and many more.
Rick is the founder and creator of the Philadelphia Improv Incubator, which is a weekly one-of-a-kind improv gymnasium for improvisers of all experience levels to work out and keep their skills sharp. The Incubator has welcomed, encouraged, and taught people of all backgrounds and levels for over 6 years.
Rick is the producer of the F Harold Comedy Festival which showcases over 70 acts sketch, stand-up, and improv acts over 6 days each year. Rick was also a Founding Producer of the Philadelphia Improv Festival, and is currently one of the Producers of Duofest.
As an improviser, Rick currently performs with three duo partners – WhipSuit, Horner & Davis, and a musical improv group called Suggestical. Rick also stars in a half-improv, half-scripted Philadlephia Fringe performance titled Zacherle, which is based on the Horror TV-Host, Zacherle.
Rick has been an Instructor for Philly Improv Theater and was one of Philly Improv Theater’s founding House Team Directors (for the resident team Activity Book: circa 2008 to 2011). Rick has taught classes and workshops in and around the Philadelphia area for years and is currently available to coach improv groups.
